'Aura Lanka' recently sponsored two major anniversary events of the 'Anuradhapura Eksath Welanda Sangamaya', the main collective of the traders in the city.

The 2021 anniversary celebrations were held at the 'Mango Mango' reception hall on March 21.

Minister of Lands - S. M. Chandrasena , MP Uddika Premaratne as well as a host of other guests graced the event.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Thambugala said that not all businessman accepted the fact that the country's consumers too, should also develop with the  businessmen in the country. It is the responsibility of the business community to contribute to the development of the country that comes with the economic development of both parties, he added.

"Some businessmen would enter politics after attaining financial success. However, if businessmen enter politics in this manner, they should not bring in  their business acumen to politics. If they do, it would greatly inconvenience the public," he said.

'Aura Lanka'had pledged Rs. 2.5 million for the event as the main sponsor, a role the company had also fulfilled in 2020.

Speaking at the event, Mr. RMSK Munasinghe, President of the 'Anuradhapura Eksath Welanda Sangamaya' thanked Dr. Thambugala for his generous contribution and noted that he was an inspiration to the business community.
